OUR PAST
Today Automobile is related with the regular life of Human beings. Everyday new vehicles are coming up with latest technology. 20 years back Automobile was not so improved and there was no such Institute in West Bengal where students could learn this Engineering.

In the year 1984/1985 in BIDHAN SARANI, KOLKATA - 6, Multi Employment Training Institute started to conduct Automobile Engineering comparable Diploma / Post Diploma (AMIMI / AMIAE) under The Institution of Motor Industries (Chennai). Then, Mr. Sanjib Banerjee - the present Director of The Institute of Automobile Engineers (Ballygunge) was somehow related to them. After a couple of years in l989, he newly started The Institute of Automobile Engineers (Ballygunge) under The Institution of Motor lndustries (Chennai) , at that time it was the only Affiliated Body of The Institution of Motor Industries (Chennai) in West Bengal. During this long journey and hard work Mr. Sanjib Banerjee has helped uncounted students to get their appropriate position in Automobile range. He was also well related with Commr. V.S.P. Mudaliar. IN.(Retd) the president of The Institution of Motor Industries, The Institution Of Automotive Engineers and The Institution Of Business Management (Chennai) and he is the fellow member (life) of the above All India Examination Body.

the guidance of Sri Sanjib Banerjee.

THE PRESENT
"The Institute of Automobile Engineers (Ballygunge) has taken the initiative to build up the career of the young boys and girls of this country, with mediocre intelligence and an average aptitude and having interest in doing work with tools on machines with a proper sense of Engineering science. The Automobile Industry is growing in India at a very high rate with a rapid introduction of sophisticated technology to a large extent. This Institute trains its students to cope up with the present technical know how and keep pace with the fast and growing Automobile Industry.

Actually Automobile is not only related with Roadways but it is also related with Railways, Waterways and Airways, i.e. in one word wherever the I.C. engine is used, an Automobile engineer is required to maintain the same. So an Automobile Engineer has several ways to establish himself in a sophisticated manner."

Mr.Arijeet Banerjee   Executive Director

The Institute of Automobile Engineers (Ballygunge) is functioning under The lnstitution Of Motor Industries (Chennai), The Institution Of Automotive Engineers (Chennai) and The Institution Of Business Management (Chennai) to standardise the Automobile Technicians up-date.

The above mentioned Chennai All India Examination Bodies are the Institutions in the society for the last 30 years and it has its own recognition in the Industry, particularly Automobile. Thousands of people working in the Automobile field today have passed Automobile Engineering from the above mentioned All India Examination Bodies through The Institute of Automobile Engineers (Ballygunge).

Mrs. Bharati Banerjee

The Chennai Examination Bodies offer courses for the upliftment of the candidates who have no means or eligibility to pursue their studies further except by private study. Likewise there are several persons who are employed in the field of Automobile who would like to enhance their educational qualification and skills. For such candidates, the Certificate issued on passing the prescribed syllabus of AMIMI/AMIAE/AIBM/AMIBM helps them to improve their position.

The Institute of Automobile Engineers (Ballygunge) hereby clearly mentions to the students joining its courses that AMIMI /AMIAE / AIBM / AMIBM (Chennai) courses are not recognised by the State / Central Government nor AICTE but has reputation of their own. The Institute of Automobile Engineers (Ballygunge) is a well known centre having been in the service of students in West Bengal for a long period.
